About Karen

Karen previously served as Founder and Executive Director of NetworkPeninsula, a ​capacity-building nonprofit whose goal is to help nonprofits fulfill their missions effectively. ​Karen served in this role for 16 years and helped hundreds of nonprofits build their capacity ​to remain sustainable, expand their reach out into the community, and identify resources ​and opportunities to help them grow. She was singlehandedly responsible for creating and ​implementing all continuing education and board training programs, maintaining a robust ​website, planning annual events and monthly networking events, researching funding ​prospects and writing grants, preparing budgets, and managing all communications, ​including social media, weekly e-newsletters, program reports, and marketing materials.


Karen has also worked as a freelance editor for the last 20+ years, assisting healthcare ​professionals with literature research, manuscript editing and proofreading, and facilitating ​the publishing process.


Karen is a creative, self-motivated, and action-oriented back office support/operations ​professional — able to successfully navigate a varied workload with unwavering attention to ​detail and a commitment to delivering high quality products and services. She is a proactive, ​adaptable forward-thinker who thrives on finding timely, impactful ways to effectively solve ​problems and create systems that work.
